Depression Therapy
What brings you to therapy?
You might notice:
Feeling low, empty, or disconnected for much of the day.
Losing interest in things you used to enjoy.
Finding everyday tasks exhausting or difficult to begin.
Withdrawing from people, even when you feel lonely.
Being hard on yourself or struggling to imagine things improving.
Perhaps this is a recent change. Or perhaps you have felt this way for so long that it is difficult to remember anything different.
When getting through the day takes effort
You may still be working, caring for others, and keeping up with responsibilities, while having little energy left for yourself. Other people may not see how much effort this takes.
Even when you know what might help, finding the energy to do it can be difficult. Therapy can offer somewhere to speak honestly about that struggle and find a manageable place to begin.
How We Might Work Together
We begin with how you have been feeling, what daily life looks like, and what you would like to change. We consider what may be contributing to your difficulties, including current pressures, relationships, loss, physical health, and earlier experiences where relevant.
Our work may involve finding manageable ways to reconnect with people and activities, attending to needs that have gone unmet, or understanding persistent self-criticism. We can also explore feelings or experiences that have been difficult to acknowledge or make sense of, while paying attention to what feels manageable with the energy you have.

What we might work towards
Your goals might include:
Experiencing more interest, enjoyment, or connection.
Finding daily tasks more manageable.
Spending less time caught in self-criticism.
Feeling more able to reach out, express your needs, and make choices about your life.
We will agree on changes that matter to you and review how therapy is helping as we go.
